The One Thing That Will Change EVERYTHING
For a percentage of us, we can do just about anything we want depending on what part of the world we live in and what resources we have available to us. Things like money, geo-political location, good health, etc. Yes, even health is a resource, because without it, we couldn’t do anything. With it, we can. Same with time.
YET, many of us still think about what we want in life, and ignore what we already have.
I’d even go far as to say that most people think about what they don’t want.
You try it.
Go ask a handful of people what they want and listen. They’ll start by telling you all the things they don’t want.
And there lies the secret to a good life.
That switch.
That tiny little shift in thinking.
The type of thinking that will make you think (and feel) you have a good life already vs. wanting one.
It’s called gratitude and appreciation. A perspective shift in the way one thinks by flipping the little tiny switch inside your head and being thankful for all the things you do have in your life.
Your health, the air you breathe, the ability to move from one place to the next, to talk, to communicate (yes, there is a difference where one involves only talking while the other involves active listening), even to be reading this right now.
You see, I heard what I’m about to tell you a while ago as I searched for the secret to having a good life. And you can have it right now, for free.
Words that took me over 40 years to find out.
What you focus on, grows.
In other words, what you put your attention to will multiply.
Focus on all the bad that can happen, and you’ll probably get more of that.
Focus on all the good that can happen, and you’ll feel a lot better.
And that is what life is about. It’s about the feeling, as in, being a human be-ing. To be in the moment. To be present. To appreciate every part of your life, one way or the other.
To cherish EVERY moment, as if it were your last, because in all honesty, it might be—you never truly know.
And that’s the secret to a good life.
One that grows with you, and doesn’t bring you down.
That tiny shift in thinking.
That takes you from feeling good to great.
From having an average life to having a good life.
Because once you’re there, more good things will happen as you open yourself up to new possibilities.
Remember, life’s too short. And to settle for anything less would be a crime against yourself. To you, to your loved ones, to life.
